Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Caribbean Anchor Limited ("we", "our" or "us") uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies on www.caribbeananchor.com (the "Platform"). It should be read with our Privacy Notice and Enquiry Privacy Policy. This version describes technologies currently used by the Platform as of the effective date; if a new non-essential analytics, advertising or embedded service is introduced, this policy should be reviewed and updated before activation.
1. Introduction and scope
This Cookie Policy explains how Caribbean Anchor Limited, a registered limited company in Antigua & Barbuda, uses cookies, browser storage and similar automated technologies on www.caribbeananchor.com (the "Platform").
It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice and Enquiry Privacy Policy. It explains what these technologies are, which categories are currently used, why they are used and how you can manage them. The Platform's technology and third-party services can change, so this policy will be updated when those changes materially affect tracking or storage.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website. They can help a site work, remember a preference or maintain a secure session. Session cookies normally expire when a browser is closed; persistent cookies remain for a set period or until deleted.
The Platform also uses browser storage. Favourites are saved in browser localStorage, draft enquiry content is held in sessionStorage, and invited private-portal authentication uses persistent browser authentication supplied through Supabase. Necessary hosting, security and rate-limiting systems may also record technical information such as hashed identifiers and security events.
Web beacons, conversion pixels, embedded scripts and maps are technologies that can load content or measure an interaction. The Platform may use scripts for its own functionality, including its area-level Leaflet/OpenStreetMap map and media presentation. As of this policy's effective date, Caribbean Anchor does not operate Google Analytics, advertising pixels, IP-personalised currency, automated partner feeds or a public provider directory.
3. Categories of technologies currently used
The Platform currently uses technologies for operation, security, saved browsing state and invited-account functionality. It does not currently deploy separate non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, the relevant provider, purpose, duration and choice mechanism should be added to this policy before deployment.
- Strictly necessary technologies support secure hosting, session and navigation functions, access controls, invited portal authentication, abuse prevention and other functions needed to operate the Platform. They cannot be disabled through a site preference control without affecting functionality.
- Browser storage for user choices: Favourites may remain in localStorage on the device and draft enquiry content may remain in sessionStorage for the browser session. These are not a cloud account or a guarantee that a favourite or draft will be recoverable on another device.
- Functional and embedded-content technologies may provide the area-level map, property browsing and media features. Third-party content, if enabled, may be subject to that provider's own privacy and cookie policy.
- Analytics and advertising: No Google Analytics, advertising pixels or other campaign tracking pixels are currently active. Do not interpret this policy as authorising their activation.
4. Third-party cookies and embedded content
Some Platform features may load services supplied by third parties. The current area-level map uses Leaflet and OpenStreetMap data; it is not a promise that a map provider places cookies on your device. Any future video host, map provider, media service or other embedded provider may process technical information under its own privacy and cookie policy.
Caribbean Anchor reviews third-party services before enabling them. We will not describe a provider as active, or a cookie as being placed, unless the current implementation and provider documentation support that description.
5. How to manage and disable cookies and storage
You can manage or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser or device settings. Blocking or deleting necessary cookies or storage may sign you out of an invited workspace, remove saved favourites or drafts, or affect Platform features.
Chrome: use Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies to manage third-party cookies and site data, or Delete browsing data to remove cookies and other site data. Menu names can vary by device and version.
Safari: choose Safari, Settings, then Privacy to manage website data and privacy controls. Manage Website Data can remove data for individual websites or all websites; advanced settings include blocking all cookies.
Firefox and Edge provide equivalent controls in their Privacy or Cookies and site-permissions settings. Consult current browser help for your version.
Because Caribbean Anchor does not currently operate Google Analytics, its opt-out browser add-on is not needed to stop analytics on this Platform. If analytics is introduced later, the add-on may prevent Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing visit activity with Google Analytics, but it does not prevent other analytics tools or data being sent to the website itself.
6. Compliance and data protection
Where cookie, browser-storage or security information is personal data, Caribbean Anchor will handle it in accordance with applicable law and the commitments in our Privacy Notice. The Antigua and Barbuda Data Protection Act, 2013 (No. 10 of 2013) applies to personal data processed by public and private bodies and includes principles concerning notice and choice, disclosure, security, retention and data-subject access and correction. This reference is not a representation that the Platform is compliant with every applicable legal requirement or a substitute for legal advice.
The public enquiry form is designed for name, email, contact preference, message and consent evidence, with optional telephone or WhatsApp details. Do not submit passports, bank details or other high-risk documents through a public enquiry form. See the Privacy Notice and Enquiry Privacy Policy for information recorded and requests.
7. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when Platform functionality, providers, legal requirements or technical standards change. The updated version will be posted with a revised Last Updated date. If non-essential tracking is introduced, we will review the appropriate notice and choice mechanism before activation.
